Salt blocks are a completely novel way to serve and cook up your food! Great for parties or that extra touch for a romantic evening at home. This is the essential ingredient for any cook’s dream kitchen.
Embolden almost any dish with an extra touch of natural ingredients and a natural look. These salt blocks can be used as a cold serving tray for fruits, cheeses, greens, and other hors devours.
The blocks can also be heated to perfectly season seafood and steak. Place the block on a stove top (or inside the stove) and slowly, slowly, slowly heat up the block to your desired temperature. Increase the temperature too quickly and the moisture inside the block may cause it to crack or explode. Seafood and steak end up wonderfully seared after placing them on a heated salt block. Serve the dish on the heated salt block (careful, it will be hot!) to continue cooking the dish and allowing it to absorb even more flavor from the salt block.
Once heated, the salt block will permanently darken and become pitted in some places. This is part of the natural process and texture of the salt. To retain the salt block’s natural pink Himalayan salt color, do not heat the block. For a display piece and a cooking piece, we recommend more than one block: one for cold food and one for heated food.
The salt blocks are easy to clean. Simply wipe down with a wet cloth and dry down with a dry cloth. Do not place the salt block in the dishwasher.
